Based 5 miles to the west of Durham City, our regular get togethers are something that our clients love. The ongoing instruction and the support they get from each other is vital to their improvement, some come just for a chat and a catchup, for a little advise and just to be around like minded people. Others are on their own horsemanship journey and these get togethers keep their progress coming. Young and inexperienced horses and owners are always welcome.
We cater for English and Western riders, there is no difference whatever your riding preference, good horsemanship is available to everyone on every level who has a desire to learn. We're a friendly bunch and invite you to come along for a chat, a cuppa and a look at what we get up to. Drop us an email via our contact form if you'd like more information. ******* HORSEMANSHIP CLINICS A great place to build on the basics or progress in your established partnership with your horse, with a focus on you both developing more confidence in each other in a safe and consistent environment leaving you with a clear way to advance. Confidence issues and young or problem horses welcome. Gaining a clear understanding of why your horse does something can make it really simple for you to work through issues together, as a team. Based on principles rather than techniques, we can help you wherever you are on your journey, if you aren’t riding then this clinic can be suitable for those working on groundwork. Clinics run 10am-12pm DATES WILL BE ADVERTISED HERE. Dates need to be pre booked and places are very limited to offer much individual attention. £45 per horse. A popular clinic dedicated to establishing the basics of control and confidence. Wherever you are on your journey with horses, groundwork is a fundamental part of good ridden work. Get an understanding for how the 2 go hand in hand, how your groundwork can set you up for success in the saddle, dealing with any and all problems you come across when riding. Ideal for both experienced or young inexperienced horses, horses and owners with confidence issues or those just wanting to connect better with their horses. Even for horses that just need to get out in company and learn how to behave. Each clinic will be focussed on those that are in attendance and the needs they have at that time. Academy Courses
Alongside our Horsemanship Clinics, we offer Academy courses, these are accessible to anyone interested in developing a better understanding of horses, whether that is because they are an owner wanting a better behaved horse, a more willing horse, a horse that is less spooky or that they can clip or hack safely, even someone who is just interested in how a horses mind works, there is a course for everyone.
A lot of our Academy courses consist of both theory and practical sessions, sometimes getting your hands on some of our own horses can be eye opening for people to understand how horses can behave and should be around people.

FOUNDATION GROUNDWORK AND HANDLING 1 Day - £80
A deep insight into how groundwork affects every aspect of how your horse behaves, creating a safe and willing horse. The importance of getting it correct and how it can influence and be the very foundation of your ridden success.
MANAGING AND DESENSITISING THE NOVICE OR NERVOUS HORSE 1 Day - £80
A great course to better understand how we can use a horses natural flight instinct to help him deal with fear and worry. Covers problem solving - things like, foot handling, clipping, mounting issues - pretty much any problem that they can through at us!
All courses are certificated and include lunch.
