Hopefields School
Welcome to Hopefields School and The Montana Project
In 2020, Ali teamed up with Emily Greenhalgh, a dedicated SEN teacher, client and friend, throughout many of their sessions together, the comparisons made between troubled children and troubled horses were a constant topic of conversation. Between them, they recognised that the mainstream education system wasn't ideal for everyone and conventional teaching methods didn't always work, just as traditional training and riding doesn't work for every horse - THERE IS A BETTER WAY!
So it was, in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic, they opened Hopefields Education CIC, a not for profit Alternative Education Provision based in Teeside.
Fast forward to June 2022 and Hopefields registered as an Independant Specialist School, we have places for 35 students aged 11-19, Hopefields follows the Nurtured Heart Approach, a US model of education that is having tremendous and totally life changing results with some of the most vulnerable young people in society.
As part of our offering at Hopefields, using our own personal horses that have had the benefit of our own style of Horsemanship training, The Montana Project offers Equine facilitated interactions for all of our students, allowing young people to develop life skills, confidence and an understanding of themselves, they learn to take responsibility for their own actions and attitude that sees them creating their own success in their educational journey in a way that they haven’t before.
Ali is co founder, director and head of operations at Hopefields on a day to day basis and in doing so has much limited time to work outside horses now, instead choosing to progress on her own journey with her own horses and although she does continue to hold the odd clinic, she focusses on her current client base, online support is always available through email and if anyone wants to get in touch drop an email to [email protected] Ali will happily help and support you if she can.
